Solo & Ensemble is an annual event where students have the opportunity to perform solo or in chamber ensembles for adjudication. This is an optional event which students prepare for on their own/with private teachers. It is not a field trip. Some small ensembles may receive coaching during the school day on a limited basis. Students are scored based on their performance and each category winner automatically advances to state at the end of April of each year. Alternates are qualified but must wait until early April to hear if they will be able to go and compete. This is based on qualifying winners from around the state. Alternates may be called up to compete if there are not enough qualified winners or if any winning students cannot attend the competition.
This year (25-26) 24 Evergreen members qualified for State in 13 categories, 6 of those categories had a winner.
*Composition and piano entries will compete on February 7th.
