2023-2024 marks the 30th anniversary of Evergreen Philharmonic recording with Seismic Island Labs. This project takes the top favorite pieces performed each year (voted on by the orchestra) and produces a professional recording. The Longman Performing Arts Center is transformed into a recording studio and for three evenings, the orchestra settles in and lays down the tracks to each chosen piece. Students help in the post production as well! Takes and numbered and student teams take numbered scores, along with these tracks, and the make choices about the best takes. Drew Cady (Seismic Island Labs) takes these choices and stitches the takes together. From there the director then takes these rough mixes for approval, making adjustments as needed in take choices and balance. Working along with Drew, the studio magic happens and that added bit of shine is put on, making the theater studio sound like the best concert halls in the world. This is an incredible real world experience for these high performing musicians. The end product is now published on bandcamp.com.
Recordings of the orchestra are available from 2014 on digitally at bandcamp.com and you can use the links below for each album.
